Detailed Question Description: In a relaxed interlocking of fingers, left thumb over right indicates the dominant allele is present in either heterozygous or homozygous individuals; homozygous recessives naturally place the right thumb over the left.
Q: When I fold my hands my thumbs meet in the middle and neither is on top. They press against each other like to poles leaning on one another.
A: I'm not sure that you can have an unclear reading as you say unless you have physical deformities or unusual ranges of movement. The question is, if you interlock your fingers, then one hand has to have it's pinky on the bottom and the other hand it's thumb on top. No other way is possible unless you are not interlocking 1 from one hand then 1 from other then 1 from one again and 1 from other, etc and have 10 fingers. Now, you can hold both your thumbs up and not interlock them, but IF you continue the alternating pattern of fingers from the bottom most pinky, then the first thumb to go down will be the one on the opposite hand from the top index finger.
