Welcome to HiddenCorrelations.com!What's in it for ME?As instant and FREE wed-services, we offer all users: * Autism/Aspergers Spectrum Scale Scoring * Personality test based on Jung - Myers-Briggs typology * Overall Health Assesment and Scoring * Overall Genetic-Fitness Level Score * Dominant Brain Hemisphere Analysis Some correlations we ALREADY have statistical data for include:- More attractive people get sick fewer times per year.- Stay at home moms seems to have children with higher IQ's and that earn much higher salaries. - Breast feeding delays puberty, or not doing so accelerates its onset. - People who do more hours per day of close-up work are more likely to be myopic. - People not breast fed for at least a year tend to have more moles, more skin tags, and get sick more times per year. It does not seem to affect number of warts. - People breast fed for at least a year are less attractive to mosquitos. - Brest fed children are more likely to claim to be well socially adjusted. - Children have sex sooner in cities and later in the country. - etc. etc. GoalsHiddenCorrelations.com is an open study platform where anyone can propose questions that the public can answer and see the collected results for. We intend to duplicate and integrate all the questions of many small 'private studies' and pose them to a much larger and more diverse population of participants - namely, any willing person. Privacy- We do NOT ask for any contact, address, location, name, or phone information to identify your account. - Your login email address does not even have to be valid, but of course if you use a fake email, you may not be able to login ever again if you do loose your password since we can't verify your email. Who is Running this Website/ProjectI am an individual interested in helping others, in this case by creating an open-source/public-domain correlation database resource. This project is my idea, this website is my design & my coding. I have made this project open, public, or whatever you want to call it, because such an endeavor would not succeed otherwise; luckily the idea landed in the mind of someone willing to release it and let it fly freely so as to let it reach higher altitudes. - Louis Marquette How Will Discovered Correlations and Collected Information be Released?- Basically, the thought is to let someone pose questions to the site's registered subjects. An example might be a question about blueberry consumption, overall diet quality, overall actions already taken to lower cholesterol - like meds, and yet another on cholesterol levels. - All the answers to these questions from all subjects that choose to answer would be provided to the researcher that asked for them and to anyone else registered with the site. Of course we would already have an analysis provided of the observed correlations, but the raw data will allow for more refined analysis then our generic one. How Will Discovered Correlations and Collected Information be Treated?- HiddenCorrelations.com is an open/public-domain project and it's fruit will be too. Anyone can signup and start using this site either as a subject or as a researcher/investigator. Most information you enter as answers to research study questions will be made PUBLICALLY AVAILABLE in BULK format to anyone. Also, any hypothesized or questioned correlations suggested will be made public. - This site is concerned with public welfare not private interests. Do not use this site if you do not want all answers/suggestions/correlations you enter to be made available in bulk anonymous format for PUBLIC RESEARCH PURPOSES!! HiddenCorrelation.com is not to be used by anyone who is against the FREE, UNRESTRICTED, OPEN, PUBLIC USE, publication, explanation, of any answers, inferred facts, or correlations that may be discovered from their data, participation, or other site usage. - By using this site, you agree to hold no copyright to your input/answers/content or derivatives(discoveries) and agree that usage of this site releases it to the Public Domain. Accuracy Level of AnswersThere are a few ways that the accuracy of a user's submission can be validated against random answer clicking. First, there are some duplicate or overlapping questions. If a user answers multiple groups such questions differently, it is likely the user was either not truthful throughout or did not understand how to answer the survey, and either way the account and it's untrusted answers can be flagged for non-inclusion in correlation calculations. Second, eventually other forms of validation will be implemented. This is only the beginning of this project and as such, many even basic research tools are unavailable to us. As researchers start to sign-up and use this site to conduct their own studies, there may be ways that some of their participant's data could be validated by those researchers, thereby giving some additional trust to the public for their participant's answers. Third, statistical analysis of an untrusted account to the answer ranges on known-trusted ones can be used to flag accounts for review of non-inclusion in correlation calculations. Fourth, certain answer combinations can flag an account as questionable. E.g. a 65 inch tall, 120 lb person answering overweight as 'yes, very' would indicate an inconsistency in at least one of those 3 question answers. Fifth, participants answering honestly will have the benefit of the underlying correlations and trends between questions to group their answers together, while anyone falsifying answers can only guess what interrelating answers other falsifiers left. As a result, honest answers will pile up at certain points showing the correlations, while false ones will be more randomly distributed, appearing like noise added. What types of Correlations?- Correlations are the associations and relationships between variables or traits. - We intend to eventually investigate any that can be imagined! Relationships between bee migration and first frost date, between planetary magnetic pole realignment and evolution spurts, to between eating apples and needing doctors! We plan to investigate old folk remedies, herbals and their effects, genes and traits (correlated traits resulting from same genes or gene clusters or genes in the same 'neighborhood' geographically chromosomally and so often inherited together) in humans and all other living organisms. How Will Correlations Be Discovered?- Through mathematical statistical analysis of large data sets. The search will be aided by the fact that the data set ( investigative subjects' answers to questions ) will be devised to cover the most likely areas for correlation and the searching for correlations in it will also be guided by and so aided by knowledge of and predictions for likely correlations. - Because the data sets from each subject will be large and expansive, the number of permutations of combinations of possibly correlated data points will be enormous. While this may make it difficult to thoroughly analyze all possible correlation combinations, having many data points per subject allows for much more analysis on any later hypothesized correlation concerning already collected data points being researched by anyone. How is this New?Analyzing data for trends is not new. Neither is comparative-genomics. What is new about this effort is it's scope of study (everything) and subjects (anyone). Previously studies were always done on an isolated group of research subjects, whether chosen people or specific bean fields, and a fixed number of study questions (data points) per subject, with no intermixing of data between studies even if subjects overlapped multiple studies. By allowing researchers to tie together the answers of questions asked of any subject that responded, the number of possible correlations to analyze grows exponentially!
